Installation Notice

• Java 2™
  You need at least the Java 2 Runtime Environment (JRE) http://java.sun.com/products/jdk/1.2/jre
  to use the ArcStyler Convergent Business Modeller and the Rational Rose(R) based Convergent Refinement (C-REF) Tools. To compile the generated Convergent Components, you need Java 2 SDK which is freely available from: http://java.sun.com/products/jdk/1.2,
  (this also includes the JRE)
  

• Java2 Plugin
  To run C-BOB, the Convergent Business Object Browser, you need the Java2 Plugin which is freely available from: http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/index.html.

• Rational Rose™
  To refine your EJB and Convergent Business Components, you need Rational Rose Version 98i SP1 or Rational Rose 2000. Demo versions of Rose are available from: http://www.rational.com/products/rose.

Download Kit Contents and Updates
The demo download kit contains the full-featured ArcStyler Professional version which may be updated after 30 days to an licensed version without re-installation. The installation kit also contains one complete EJB-Cartridge for the PowerTier EJB Application Server. A demo version of this EJB-Container may be obtained from http://www.persistence.com. This container is used in the ArcStyler Tutorial.

Once you have downloaded the ArcStyler, you will receive login information for our Support Page which provides immediate access to up-to-date information and upgrade kits.

Obtaining Additional EJB-Cartridges
The ArcStyler currently supports several leading EJB-Container constellations.

You may also download additional EJB-Cartridges for demo/test purposes. However, we require that you first provide us with accurate contact information before downloading these additional EJB-Cartridges.
